Fall Hill Avenue
(New) Monday-Thursday, 9 p.m. – 5 a.m.; Single lane closure between Noble Way and the I-95 overpass for stormwater structure work. Single lane closure with traffic control by a flagging crew.
Under Construction: Fall Hill Avenue Widening and I-95 Overpass Replacement Project
Construction is underway on the Fall Hill Avenue widening and I-95 overpass replacement project. Motorists should expect lane closures and brief delays on Fall Hill Avenue between the Rappahannock Canal bridge and Carl D. Silver Parkway (Central Park). The project will be completed in January 2017.
Stafford County
Route 218 (White Oak Road)
(Update) Monday – Friday, 7 a.m. – 4 p.m.; Crews will be installing guardrail on eastbound and westbound Route 218 beginning at Route 606 (Ferry Road) moving towards Route 694. Motorists should expect periodic lane closures and delays in the work zone.
Route 628 (American Legion Road) Bridge over I-95
(New) Monday and Tuesday, 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.; One lane will be closed on the northbound and southbound side of I-95 between mile markers 137-139 located just south of Exit 140 (Route 630/Stafford). Crews will be performing a routine inspection of the Route 628 (American Legion Road) bridge over I-95.
Route 652 (Truslow Road) Bridge over I-95
(New) Wednesday and Thursday, 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.; One lane will be closed on the northbound and southbound side of I-95 between mile markers 133-135 located just north of Exit 133 (Route 17/Falmouth). Crews will be performing a routine inspection of the Route 652 (Truslow Road) bridge over I-95.
Route 630 (Courthouse Road)
(Update) Wednesday and Thursday, 9 a.m. 3:30 p.m.; Crews will be trimming trees on Route 630 in the vicinity of Winding Creek Road and Liberty Knolls Drive. Flaggers will direct traffic through the work zone.
Under Construction: Route 17
Construction is underway to widen Route 17 from four to six lanes between McLane Drive and Stafford Lakes Parkway, a distance of nearly 2 miles. The work zone extends from just south of the I-95 interchange to Cardinal Forest Drive. Motorists should be alert to changes in traffic pattern and periodic overnight lane closures. This project will be completed in December 2016.
Spotsylvania County
Under Construction: Route 17/Benchmark Road/Crossroads Parkway
Motorists should expect lane closures and brief traffic stops on Route 17 at Benchmark Road and Crossroads Parkway, located just east of the CSX railroad tracks and west of Jim Morris Road. Flaggers will direct motorists through the work zone. This work is related to construction of a new Virginia Railway Express train station and parking lot. This project is being administered by Spotsylvania County.
King George County
Route 3 Westbound
(New) Wednesday – Friday, 7 a.m. – 6 p.m.; crews will be milling and paving on the westbound side of Route 3 from Route 607 (Port Conway Road) to Route 694 (Lambs Creek Road). Motorists will be restricted to one lane in the work zone.
Caroline County
Under Construction: Route 648 (Sunshine Road) Bridge Replacement
Route 648 (Sunshine Road) in Caroline County is closed to through traffic. Crews are replacing a bridge approximately 1.1 miles from Route 647. Motorists should follow posted detour signs. The project is expected to be complete in approximately 5 weeks.
