Interstate 95 Northbound and Southbound
(Update) Monday, 9:30 p.m. – 5 a.m.; Two northbound I-95 lanes will be closed near mile marker 131 at the Fall Hill Avenue overpass from 9:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. Tuesday morning. Two southbound I-95 lanes will be closed at the overpass from 1 a.m. to 5 a.m. Tuesday. Crews will be pouring concrete for the bridge deck on the new overpass.
Fall Hill Avenue
(New) Monday-Friday, 8:30 p.m. – 4 p.m.; Traffic will be reduced to a single lane on Fall Hill Avenue for utility work. Flaggers will direct motorists through the work zone.
Under Construction: Fall Hill Avenue Widening and I-95 Overpass Replacement Project
Construction is underway on the Fall Hill Avenue widening and I-95 overpass replacement project. Motorists should expect lane closures and brief delays on Fall Hill Avenue between the Rappahannock Canal bridge and Carl D. Silver Parkway (Central Park). The project will be completed in January 2017.
Stafford County
Interstate 95 Northbound
(Update) Tuesday-Thursday, 9 p.m. – 4:30 a.m.; Crews will be line striping on I-95 northbound between Exit 136 (Centreport Parkway) and Exit 140 (Route 630/Stafford). Motorists will be restricted to one lane in this mobile work zone.
Interstate 95 Northbound
(New) Wednesday-Thursday, 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.; Crews will be installing rumble strips on I-95 northbound between Exit 136 (Centreport Parkway) and Exit 140 (Route 630/Stafford). All travel lanes will remain open.
Interstate 95 Southbound
(Update) Monday, 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.; Crews will continue inspecting the I-95 bridge over the Rappahannock River located just south of Exit 133 (Rt. 17/Falmouth). A single lane closure will be in place on I-95 northbound and southbound.
Blue and Gray Parkway
(New) Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.; Crews will be inspecting the Route 3 bridge over the Rappahannock River. Motorists will be restricted to one lane in both directions on the bridge.
Route 218 Bridge over CSX
(Update) Tuesday, 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.; Motorists will be restricted to one lane in each direction on the Route 218 Bridge over the CSX railroad while crews continue inspecting the structure.
Route 218 (White Oak Road)
(New) Monday – Friday, 7 a.m. – 4 p.m.; Crews will be installing guardrail on Route 218 from Route 606 (Ferry Road) towards Route 694. Motorists should be alert to crews working along the shoulder.
Route 608 (Brooke Road)
(New) Monday – Tuesday, 7 a.m. – 6 p.m.; Crews will be working along the shoulder on Route 608 between Thorny Point Road and Raven Road. Flaggers will direct motorists through the work zone.
Route 630 (Courthouse Road)
(New) Wednesday, 9 a.m. 3:30 p.m.; Crews will be trimming trees on Route 630 in the vicinity of Winding Creek Road and Liberty Knolls Drive. Flaggers will direct traffic through the work zone.
Under Construction: Route 17
Construction is underway to widen Route 17 from four to six lanes between McLane Drive and Stafford Lakes Parkway, a distance of nearly 2 miles. The work zone extends from just south of the I-95 interchange to Cardinal Forest Drive. Motorists should be alert to changes in traffic pattern and periodic overnight lane closures. This project will be completed in December 2016.
Spotsylvania County
Interstate 95 Southbound
(Update) Sunday – Tuesday, 9 p.m. – 6 a.m.; Crews will be line striping on I-95 southbound between Exit 126 (Route 1/Spotsylvania) and Exit 118 (Route 606/Thornburg). One lane will be closed in this mobile work zone.
Route 17/Benchmark Road/Crossroads Parkway
(New) Beginning Monday the new traffic signal installed at the intersection of Route 17 at Benchmark Road and Crossroads Parkway will be in flashing mode. On Thursday, October 29, 2015 the signal will become fully operational. This work is in connection with the new Virginia Railway Express train station and parking lot.
In addition, motorists should expect shoulder and lane closures on Route 17 at Benchmark Road and Crossroads Parkway, located just east of the CSX railroad tracks and west of Jim Morris Road.
This project is being administered by Spotsylvania County.

(Update) Crews will continue milling and paving at the following locations on Route 218 this week. Motorists will be restricted to one lane in each work zone:

Monday – Wednesday (8 p.m. – 6 a.m.)

Caroline County
Route 609 (Woodslane Road)
(Update) Motorists are reminded that Route 609 (Woodslane Road) is closed to traffic at the rail crossing for repairs. The road will remain closed to all traffic through Friday, October 30. This is a 24-hour closure. Motorists should use the most convenient alternate route.
Under Construction: Route 648 (Sunshine Road) Bridge Replacement
Route 648 (Sunshine Road) in Caroline County is closed to through traffic. Crews are replacing a bridge approximately 1.1 miles from Route 647. Motorists should follow posted detour signs. The project is expected to be complete in approximately 5 weeks.
