The Second Annual Sandwich Invitational will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 30, 2015, in Hurkamp Park at William Street and Prince Edward Street in downtown Fredericksburg. Thirteen local restaurants will present a specialty sandwich to compete for the $750 judge’s prize of Sandwich King and the $500 People’s Choice Award. Last year’s winners were FoodE and Sprelly, respectively.

Everyone age five and up is required to have a general admission or guest only ticket. General admission tickets are up $5 this year to $30 a person. They’re available at the Fredericksburg Visitors Center, 706 Caroline St.
Guest only tickets at $10 a person, and include non-alcoholic beverages, access to event entertainment and samples from four food related businesses, but not tastings of the 13 featured sandwiches. Guest tickets are available at the Visitors Center and at the gate the night of the event.
Also available are a limited number of reserved tables for $100. Tables will include a centerpiece of fresh flowers, pitchers of lemonade or water, and another special treat, Perry said.
During Summer Restaurant Week July 31 – August 9, 2015, guests can choose 2 for $20 specials at 22 participating restaurants. A list of participating restaurants and sample menus are available online.
