The Fredericksburg Main Street Initiative (FMSI) has named Ann Glave as its first executive director.
Glave is currently the director of the Montpelier Center for Arts & Education in Montpelier, Va. From 1999 – 2005 she owned Glave & Company in Fredericksburg, a shop which specialized in handcrafted jewelry and crafts made primarily in U.S.
“Ann’s experience in non-profit organization, including volunteer organizing and fundraising, plus her knowledge of the retail sector, the Main Street Program and Fredericksburg helped distinguish her from an excellent field of close to 40 candidates,” said Scarlett Suhy-Pons, FMSI board president.
Glave has a 2013 MBA from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Marketing Management from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg. She also has nonprofit marketing and nonprofit fundraising certificates from the Institute on Philanthropy at the University of Richmond.
Glave begins her position at FMSI on Feb. 1, 2014.
