The City of Fredericksburg is accepting proposals from qualified and experienced consultants for assistance developing an Economic Development Master Plan.
Proposals are due no later than 4 p.m. Thursday, June 11, 2015, to the Department of Economic Development and Tourism.
The plan will define the city’s business and economic development goals and strategies, building upon the JumpStart! Plan, adopted in June 2006.
“Development of an economic development master plan will provide a clear course of action for the city’s business recruitment, re-development strategies and business incentives,” said Karen Hedelt, director of Economic Development and Tourism. “We will know our economic development priorities and be able to act with the basis provided.”
Ultimate goals include retaining and expanding existing businesses, attracting new businesses and jobs, enhancing and preserving the city’s distinct sense of place, and encouraging entrepreneurship and innovation, Hedelt said
A draft of the master plan will be scheduled for presentation to and eventual adoption by the Fredericksburg City Council by December 1, 2015.
The RFP and more information are on the city’s website at Economic Development Master Plan.
