“Nearly four million veteran households pay more than 30 percent of their income for housing, which is a severe cost burden,” Habitat for Humanity said.
Veterans Build will provide homes for local veteran partner families, and bring homeowner education, volunteer opportunities and a celebration of veterans and their families to our community,” said Gayle Bracy, co-chair of the project.
Two information meetings are scheduled.
– Saturday, Jan. 24, at 1 p.m. at VFW Post 3103, 2701 Princess Anne St., Fredericksburg.
– Tuesday, Jan. 27, at 7 p.m. at Eagles Lodge 4488, 1110 Courthouse Rd., Stafford.
In addition, veterans in the Greater Fredericksburg Habitat for Humanity service area — the city of Fredericksburg and the counties of King George, Spotsylvania and Stafford — may review the selection criteria and apply for a Veterans Build home at Veterans Build 2015.
Corporate sponsors and personal donors are also needed. Please email [email protected] for details.
