Area high school seniors who have enlisted in the U.S. military were honored Wednesday evening at the third annual Our Community Salutes Fredericksburg enlistee recognition ceremony.
Chris Cammack, chairman of the Fredericksburg Area Veterans Council, served as master of ceremonies. U.S. Representative Rob Wittman (VA-1) presented the keynote address, following messages to the enlistees from U.S. Army Command Sgt. Maj. Scott Guillory, U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Maj. Kenneth A. Conover, U.S. Navy CDR Aaron W. Dimmock and U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Charity A. Hartley. World War II Army veteran Dr. George Nixon also addressed the more than 170 young men and women.
