September 5 – Friday

Soggy Doggy Swim
5:30 – 8 p.m. at Dixon Park Pool, 1300 Dixon St., Fredericksburg.  Admission is $5 for up two dogs. The event is open to dogs one-week of age and older.  All dogs must have current vaccinations.

First Friday Art Walk
6 – 9 p.m. throughout downtown Fredericksburg.

Trivia Night at the James Monroe Museum
6 – 8 p.m. at the museum, 908 Charles St, Fredericksburg. Free.

James Monroe Yellow Jackets vs. North Stafford Wolverines
7 p.m. away game at North Stafford High School, 839 Garrisonville Rd., Stafford.

September 6 – Saturday

Yoga in the Garden at James Monroe Museum
9 – 10 a.m. $8/person. Classes are drop-in — no reservations required.  908 Charles St.

Art in the Park
9 a.m. – 1 p.m. in Hurkamp Park, 500 William St. Art in the Park is a showcase of local artists held in conjunction with First Saturdays at the Fredericksburg Farmers Market.  Free.

Eagle Nation Day
All day beginning at 10 a.m. Family friendly activities at the Battleground Athletic Complex off Hanover Street and on the UMW campus in Fredericksburg. Free.

Vintage Rt. 1 Tour and Community Day
10 a.m. – 4 p.m. in downtown Fredericksburg.  This annual celebration of Fredericksburg’s 20th century history includes ticketed walking tours of Princess Anne Street  — part of the original Route 1 — as well as free events at various venues in downtown Fredericksburg, including Riverfront Park, 609 Sophia St.  Guests are invited to dress from their favorite decade.

Music by Moonlight
7 – 9:30 p.m. in Hurkamp Park, 500 William St.  A free concert by the Fredericksburg Big Band.  The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary will be accepting donations to send local children to a week of camp at The Salvation Army’s Camp Happyland.

End of Summer Beach Party
7 p.m. – midnight at the Fredericksburg Country Club, 11031 Tidewater Trail.  Tickets are $25 each and include dancing, light fare and a cash bar.  This is a fundraising event sponsored by and for the Rappahannock Council Against Sexual Assault.  For more information or tickets please call 540-760-1961 or email [email protected].

Downtown Fredericksburg Local Bridal Show
12 – 4 p.m. at the Inn at the Old Silk Mill, 1707 Princess Anne St.  Free.
