Open Late Fridays
A majority of downtown businesses are participating in Open Late Fridays, a new initiative spearheaded by the Fredericksburg Main Street Initiative (FMSI). Businesses displaying the yellow “Open Late” flag will be open until at least 8 p.m. every Friday from November 7 through December 19.

Concert in Lights
The Spotsylvania Towne Center Concert in Lights runs November 8 – December 24, 2014, at 6:30, 7:30, 8:30 and 9:30 p.m. Christmas Eve Finale at 5:30 p.m. The Village at Spotsylvania Towne Center, 137 Spotsylvania Mall Dr., Fredericksburg. Free.

Trees of Hope
Trees of Hope 2014, a benefit for Loisann’s Hope House for homeless women and children, hosts its public viewing from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the University of Mary Washington’s Jepson Alumni Center, 1119 Hanover St. The Tree-of-Palooza, including heavy hors d’oeuvres, live music and silent and live auctions of the trees, will be held in the same location from 6 to 9 p.m. Tickets are $75 per person or $125 per couple, and may be purchased online.

Handbell Caroling Downtown
The Maranatha 2nd Generation Children’s Handbell Choir will carol along Caroline Street beginning at 2 p.m Saturday, Nov. 22, finishing with a 3 p.m. concert at the James Monroe Museum, 908 Charles St.

Merry Market
The Fredericksburg Area Service League presents their annual Merry Market, a boutique shopping experience featuring carefully selected artisans and vendors, at The Olde Silk Mill, 1707 Princess Anne St. Saturday’s hours are 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Sunday’s hours are 12 – 4 p.m. Admission is $4 online, $5 at the door. Children under 12 are free.
