Rod Shriver has worked tirelessly with Special Olympics Virginia.   Here’s the announcement from the Sheriff’s Office:

We are pleased to announce that Rod Shriver has been promoted to the rank of Sergeant of the school resource officer unit! Sgt. Shriver has been a deputy with our agency since 2011 after retiring from the U.S. Marine Corps. Sgt. Shriver started as a patrol deputy before becoming the King George Middle School resource officer in 2014. In addition, he serves as the Honor Guard team leader as well as a member of Bike Patrol.

He is also well known for his commitment to the Virginia Special Olympics and organizes events to benefit the program. Sgt. Shriver is well deserving of this promotion and we know he will continue to serve our community and schools well. Congratulations Sergeant!
