Stafford County crime report June 7-18

The following crimes were reported to the Stafford Sheriff’s Office from June 7-18:

  • ASSAULT Courthouse Road, 6/14, 8:38 a.m. Deputy F.A. Martinez responded to an assault. The victim advised she was with a group of friends when one of the friend’s ex-girlfriend showed up. The suspect would confront the victim and assault her. Since the suspect is a juvenile, a criminal complaint for assault and battery was filed. 
  • BURGLARY Pro Auto Expo, 3321 Richmond Highway, 6/9, 11:37 p.m. Deputy R.A. Peterson responded to a burglary. It was discovered the business was broken into and numerous vehicle keys were stolen. The investigation is ongoing. Geeks Motor, 3343 Richmond Highway, 6/11, 7:43 a.m. Deputy K.R. Sprinkles responded to a burglary. It was discovered the business was broken into and a Ford F150 was stolen. The investigation is ongoing. 
  • CHILD NEGLECT Cumberland Road, 6/6, 6:23 p.m. First Sergeant A.I. Assur responded to a found child. The caller advised they located a disheveled 7-year-old girl wandering the street. Assur ensured the child’s safety and investigated to identify her parents. After informing the father of the situation he would arrive an hour later. He was issued a summons for child neglect.  
  • DISTURBANCE 7-Eleven, 201 Garrisonville Road, 6/7, 9:16 p.m. Deputy P.J. Leon responded to a disturbance. The caller advised a male suspect parked behind his vehicle, blocking him from leaving. The suspect would refuse to allow the caller to leave. After a bit of back and forth, the suspect fled to Walmart, located at 217 Garrisonville Road. It was discovered the suspect was trespassed from Walmart. He was charged with trespassing and disorderly conduct. He was released by the magistrate on personal recognizance. Kings Highway, 6/16, 4:47 p.m. Deputy E.L. Shelton responded to a disturbance. It was discovered a male suspect walking near the highway observed a truck with someone he knew inside. He would throw a rock towards the truck, but missed and instead struck a King George County deputy’s cruiser. The suspect was charged with throwing a missile at a moving vehicle and was released by the magistrate on personal recognizance. 
  • DUI Kellogg Mill Road, 6/6, 6:01 p.m. Deputy I.E. Baldi responded to a single vehicle auto accident. A Ford made contact with a tree. The driver had clear signs of intoxication and admitted to consuming Four Loko before driving. The driver was charged with driving under the influence and is still being treated at a local hospital. CVS, 450 Chatham Heights Road, 6/7, 10:17 p.m. First Sergeant M.R. Flick and Deputy M.A. Holub responded to a suspicious person call. Staff advised despite the store about to close, there was a male asleep in his vehicle outside the business. When the driver awoke, deputies observed several signs of intoxication, including pinpoint pupils. It was discovered the driver had a revoked license due to a previous DUI. The driver was charged with driving under the influence second offense in five years, and driving while suspended. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond. Pratt Park, 120 River Road, 6/8, 1:14 a.m. Deputy E.T. Osborn responded to an unknown problem. An intoxicated caller advised there was a disturbance. When Osborn arrived, he observed a Ford F250 parked outside the park gates. The driver advised he didn’t know how to get home and his car keys were broken. It was discovered the keys were not broken, it was a push-to-start vehicle. The driver had signs of intoxication and admitted to consuming Bud Light. Not so coincidentally, there was an empty Bud Light can feet from the vehicle. The driver was charged with driving under the influence and was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober. Intersection of Garrisonville Road and Salisbury Drive, 6/9, 1:11 a.m. Deputy P.J. Leon observed a black SUV conduct a U-turn despite the clearly marked no U-turn sign. Leon initiated a traffic stop and made contact with the driver who had clear signs of intoxication and admitted to consuming approximately three “fingers” full of bourbon. Within the vehicle were two open bottles of alcohol, but what was not present was the driver’s license. He was charged with driving under the influence, drinking while driving, refusal, failure to obey a traffic sign, and operating a vehicle without a driver’s license. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $2,500 secured bond. Hartwood Road, 6/9, 7:45 p.m. Sergeant E.E. West and Deputy D.A. Robertson responded to a hit and run. A vehicle struck a mailbox. A citizen observed the driver flee from the scene and get picked up by another driver. Deputies made contact with the suspect, who had signs of intoxication and admitted to consuming four beers prior to driving. He was charged with driving under the influence with a blood alcohol content between .15 and .2, as well as hit and run. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $3,500 secured bond. Intersection of Garrisonville Road and Salisbury Drive, 6/10, 2:14 a.m. Deputy P.J. Leon was in the area when he observed a Dodge Durango stopped at a green light. It was discovered the driver fell asleep behind the wheel while attempting to turn. After the driver woke up, Leon observed signs of intoxication. Leon would also observe a red solo cup filled with Hennessy. The driver was charged with driving under the influence, drinking while driving, refusal, and failure to obey a traffic light. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $2,500 secured bond. Intersection of Richmond Highway and American Legion Road, 6/13, 2:50 a.m. Deputy R.A. Peterson was on Richmond Highway when she observed a Jeep traveling dangerously under the speed limit and failing to maintain the lane of travel. A traffic stop was conducted and contact was made with the driver who had signs of intoxication, open cans of beer within the vehicle, and admitted to consuming four Bud Lights. He was charged with driving under the influence with a blood alcohol content above .2, drinking while driving, the traffic lane violation, and having an expired inspection. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $5,000 secured bond. Divergent Diamond on Courthouse Road, 6/13, 3:58 p.m. Deputy K.F. Bierfeldt responded to a drunk driver complaint. Multiple callers advised a Toyota Corolla was swerving all over the roadway. Bierfeldt would locate the suspect vehicle parked in a grass median. The driver had obvious signs of intoxication and admitted to consuming three beers before driving. The suspect was charged with driving under the influence, refusal, and reckless driving. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober. Falmouth Beach, 401 River Road, 6/15, 8:36 p.m. Deputy D.S. Jett was in the area when he observed a vehicle at the park despite it being closed. The vehicle attempted to leave the parking lot by driving down the designated walking path and through the grass; however, stopped after noticing Jett’s presence. The driver had signs of intoxication and admitted to consuming Coronas prior to driving. The driver was charged with driving under the influence and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober and an unsecured bond. Area of Kings Highway and Federal Drive, 6/15, 9:15 p.m. Sergeant S.C. Jett was on a traffic stop when another vehicle came by at a high rate of speed and nearly struck Jett’s cruiser. After being nearly hit, Jett caught up to the suspect vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. The driver had extreme signs of intoxication and admitted to consuming one beer; however, later changed his answer to four. Multiple open containers of beer were located within the vehicle. The driver was charged with driving under the influence with a blood alcohol content between .15 and .2, drinking while driving, and failure to move over. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond. 
  • LARCENY Advance Auto Parts, 598 Warrenton Road, 6/7, 2:58 p.m. Deputy S. Waheed responded to a larceny. Staff advised a company vehicle had its catalytic converter stolen. Camera footage showed two men committing the theft. Walmart, 11 Village Parkway, 6/8, 6:03 p.m. Deputy A.E. Epps responded to a larceny. Staff advised a male suspect walked out with multiple unpaid items, including a Sonic the Hedgehog blanket. The suspect would then attempt to go fast while fleeing, but was discovered by Deputy S.T. Myers. He was issued a summons for shoplifting. Target, 1090 Stafford Market Place, 6/9, 6:18 p.m. Sergeant A.T. Leckemby responded to a larceny. Staff advised they observed two female suspects stealing approximately $170 worth of items. The suspects advised they decided to “risk it” and came to the store with intent to steal. Both were issued summonses for shoplifting. Comfort Suites, 541 Warrenton Road, 6/11, 7:28 a.m. Deputy C.R. Szentkuti responded to a larceny. The victim advised he woke up this morning to discover a hammock stolen from his trailer. Walmart, 11 Village Parkway, 6/11, 6:14 p.m. Deputy J.A. Albright responded to a larceny. Staff advised a male suspect was currently leaving with nearly $270 worth of items. He was located outside a nearby business. Due to the suspect currently being on probation, he was charged with shoplifting and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond. Walmart, 217 Garrisonville Road, 6/12, 6:13 p.m. Deputy C.D. Quebedeaux responded to a larceny. Staff advised they observed a male suspect concealing items. Quebedeaux identified the suspect who admitted to the theft. A warrant for shoplifting was obtained. CVS, 450 Chatham Heights Road, 6/12, 7:38 p.m. Deputy A.J. Charoenthep responded to a larceny. Staff advised three female suspects stole nearly $4,000 worth of beauty products before fleeing in a black SUV. Days Inn, 14 Simpson Road, 6/13, 5:49 a.m. Deputy D.A. Robertson responded to a larceny. The victim advised a known party was in his room when he went to sleep. When he woke up, this party member was gone along with the victim’s wallet and watch, valued at $22,000. Target, 25 South Gateway Drive, 6/13, 1:32 p.m. Deputy J.E. Cordes responded to a larceny. Staff advised they observed a female suspect skip scanning items. It would not be the suspect’s first time as staff recognized her from two other shoplifting incidents. The suspect was charged with three counts of shoplifting and released by the magistrate on personal recognizance. Wawa, 105 Garrisonville Road, 6/14, 4:51 p.m. Deputy B.E. Vaughn responded to a larceny. Staff advised they had video of a larceny that took place earlier in the day. Vaughn is working to identify the suspect. Belle Plains Road, 6/15, 6:00 a.m. Deputy D.R. Ludolph responded to a suspicious person call. The caller advised they observed a male suspect drive off in a neighbor’s truck. Later on, that neighbor would report his vehicle stolen. While reporting the stolen vehicle, the suspect returned with the vehicle. The suspect was unknown to the victim and advised he needed the truck to go to the store. He was charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle and was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond. AT&T, 1495 Stafford Market place, 6/16, 2:11 p.m. Deputy F.A. Martinez responded to a larceny. Staff advised three individuals stole phones. Walmart, 11 Village Parkway, 6/16, 3:06 p.m. Deputy J.A. Albright responded to a larceny. Staff advised they observed a female suspect concealing items in her purse. After a quick review of the store’s cameras, it was discovered the suspect had been at the business since 9 a.m. making multiple trips to her vehicle with stolen items each time. She was charged with shoplifting and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $1,500 secured bond. 
  • PUBLIC INTOXICATION 2700 block of Richmond Highway, 6/6, 5:27 p.m. Deputy R.J. Kemp responded to a suspicious person call. The caller advised there was a male stumbling around the roadway. When Kemp arrived, he located the suspect napping on the ground. When the napper awoke, Kemp observed signs of intoxication. He was charged with public intoxication and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober. Sheetz, 1175 Garrisonville Road, 6/8, 12:12 p.m. Deputy X.D. Bates responded to an unknown problem. The caller advised a male suspect was acting strange. Bates made contact with the stumbling suspect and noticed signs of intoxication. The suspect also had open cans of beer in his possession. He was charged with public intoxication and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober. Government Island, 191 Coal Landing Road, 6/9, 2:40 a.m. Deputy B.M. Stanfill and Deputy W.E. Trainor responded to a suspicious vehicle call. Despite the park being closed, there were vehicles in the area. Deputies arrived in the area to discover two males. One was in an intoxicated state while the other was carrying a concealed firearm. Suspect one was charged with public intoxication and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober. Suspect two was issued a summons for carrying a concealed firearm without a concealed carry permit. Snowbird Lane, 6/11, 3:30 a.m. Deputy T.G. Croson responded to a disturbance. The caller accused a family member of stealing his phone. Croson made contact with the caller, who was in an intoxicated state. Other family members confirmed there was no theft of a phone. The suspect was charged with public intoxication and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober. Anvil Road, 6/12, 11:10 a.m. Deputy F.C. O’Neill responded to an unknown problem. The caller advised she heard someone request an ambulance. When O’Neill arrived in the area he located a male in an intoxicated state. The suspect advised that he drank “too much.” The suspect was charged with public intoxication and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober. Wawa, 9 South Gateway Drive, 6/14, 5:33 a.m. Deputy M.N. Sayegh responded to an unknown problem. The caller advised there was a female suspect that had been in the bathroom for a long time. When Sayegh arrived, she made contact with the suspect who was attempting to wash her hands without running water. The suspect had signs of intoxication and was charged with public intoxication. She was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober. Long Point Drive, 6/15, 11:58 p.m. Deputy E.L. Shelton responded to a public intoxication call. It was advised a female suspect was intoxicated having a heated agreement with a male. When deputies arrived, they located the suspect in an intoxicated state in the middle of the street. It was discovered she was wanted out of Fairfax County for a failure to appear charge. She was charged with public intoxication and served on her outstanding charge. She was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond. Dunkin Donuts, 551 Warrenton Road, 6/17, 6:56 p.m. Sergeant E.E. West and Deputy S.A. Hensley responded to an intoxicated person call. Staff advised there was a female suspect who had been at the business for hours displaying unusual behaviors. Deputies located the suspect and observed signs of intoxication. She was charged with public intoxication and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober. Target, 25 South Gateway Drive, 6/17, 9:47 p.m. Sergeant E.E. West and Deputy R.L. Hubbard responded to an unknown problem. The caller advised he needed the Sheriff’s Office’s help locating a Greyhound bus. Deputies made contact with the caller, who was singing at the customer service desk. The Nebraska traveler was in an intoxicated state. When deputies attempted to detain him, he resisted. He was charged with public intoxication and obstruction of justice. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond. Shields Road, 6/17, 10:16 p.m. Deputy S. Waheed responded to an altercation. The caller advised his family was refusing to give him his car keys. It was discovered they were doing this due to the caller’s level of intoxication. When deputies arrived, they located the suspect intoxicated in view of the public. He was charged with public intoxication and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober. 
  • TRESPASS Target 1090 Stafford Market Place, 6/14, 11:08 a.m. Deputy B.W. Gildea responded to a trespassing complaint. Staff advised a male suspect they were very familiar with was back at the business despite being trespassed. Gildea located the suspect and arrested him for trespassing. He was released by the magistrate on personal recognizance. 
  • VANDALISM Garrison Woods, 6/11, 3:49 p.m. Deputy R.W. Stamm responded to a vandalism. It was reported that three mailboxes were broken off their stand. Using nearby cameras, it was discovered a blue sleeper cab with a full-sized trailer committed the hit and run. Children of America, 2 South Pointe Lane, 6/12, 12:40 p.m. Deputy A.W. Sypolt responded to a hit and run. A vehicle struck a fence and the driver fled on foot. Contact was made with the suspect, and the investigation is ongoing. Trail Ridge Lane, 6/12, 1:38 p.m. Deputy F.C. O’Neill responded to a vandalism. The victim had a window of his Jeep shattered.
  • WARRANT SERVED Town Center Boulevard, 6/6, 12:19 p.m. Detectives had information that a wanted suspect was in the area. The suspect was wanted out of Tennessee for probation violations on charges originally from robbery, reckless endangerment, aggravated assault, and aggravated burglary. Detectives and deputies responded to the area and took the suspect into custody without incident. He is being held at Rappahannock Regional Jail awaiting extradition. 7-Eleven, 1947 Richmond Highway, 6/9, 4:38 p.m. Deputy X.D. Bates was on a traffic stop when he discovered the driver was wanted out of Texas for aggravated assault with a weapon. He also did not possess a driver’s license. He was charged with fugitive from justice and driving without a license. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond. MCBQ Visitor Control Center, 27031 Telegraph Road, 6/10, 1:42 p.m. Deputy K.R. Sprinkles responded to a warrant service. The gate guard advised there was a male suspect on scene who was wanted. It was discovered the suspect was wanted out of Indiana for felony counterfeiting and fraud, as well as, Illinois for identity theft. He was charged with fugitive from justice and was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
