  • ARSON Stafford High School 63 Stafford Indians Lane, 4/24, 9:30 a.m. Deputy R.B. Brooks was conducting his SRO duties when he was informed of a fire. A paper towel dispenser in the boy’s bathroom was on fire. Fire Marshall D.M. Pappas responded and determined the fire was intentionally set. The suspected student was found in possession of a lighter and vapes. Criminal complaints for the arson and underage possession of tobacco are pending. 
  • ASSAULT Mountain View High School, 2135 Mountain View Road, 4/19, 2:02 p.m. Deputy H. Rivera was conducting his SRO duties when he was informed of an assault. Staff advised they heard what they thought was a student being “jumped.” Using camera footage, Rivera discovered two students ganged up on another student and assaulted him. Criminal complaints for assault by mob were filed. 7-Eleven, 378 Garrisonville Road, 4/19, 10:46 p.m. Deputy T.G. Croson responded to an angry customer. Staff advised a female suspect began cursing when there was a problem with her payment method. She would then toss cookies and spit on staff before leaving in a blue Nissan. Shelton Shop Road, 4/21, 8:36 p.m. Deputies responded to a disturbance on Shelton Shop Road and one of the subjects required treatment at a local hospital for an injury to his head. Deputies determined the injured party was assaulted as a result of self defense and no charges were placed. Stafford High School, 63 Stafford Indians Lane, 4/23, 1:20 p.m. Deputy R.B. Brooks was conducting his SRO duties when he was informed of a fight. Instead of having a normal game of volleyball, two students decided to have a fight. A criminal complaint for assault and battery will be filed for student one, while a warrant for assault and battery will be filed for the 18-year-old student. Starbucks, 1495 Stafford Market Place, 4/24, 12:14 p.m. Our Badges and Barbeque event was cut short due to a disturbance with a weapon down the street. The victim advised while dealing with an auto accident in the parking lot, an unknown male not involved pulled a knife on him. First Sergeant J.A. Mangan located the suspect vehicle in the area of Richmond Highway and Foreston Woods Drive and conducted a traffic stop. The driver, who was on his way to court, was found in possession of knife. He was charged with simple assault and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $500 secured bond. James Madison Circle, 4/25, 2:34 p.m. Deputy R.B. Brooks responded to an assault. It was discovered an adult student assaulted a juvenile student immediately after they exited the bus. While conversing with the victim, the suspect returned to the scene and informed Brooks of his transgression. He was arrested for assault and battery and was released by the magistrate on personal recognizance.
  • BREAKING AND ENTERING Harvest Green Court, 4/20, 9:53 a.m. Deputies responded to a verbal disagreement between a juvenile couple. This disagreement ended when the male suspect was given his property back and was trespassed from the location. At 11:18 a.m. deputies responded back to the residence, for a breaking and entering. It was discovered the male suspect broke into the residence, assaulted the female victim, stole her phone, and damaged property. Deputies located the suspect still in the area with the victim’s phone. Criminal complaints for breaking and entering with intent to commit a felony, trespassing, larceny, as well as assault and battery were submitted. Juvenile Intake was contacted; however, refused to detain the suspect, so he was released to his mother.  
  • DISTURBANCE Pilot Knob Loop, 4/25, 8:08 p.m. First Sergeant N. Zotos and Deputy C.R. Newman responded to a neighbor dispute. While attempting to deescalate the situation, a male suspect would continue to yell at other parties, refuse commands, and push against Zotos. The situation was finally defused after the suspect was detained. He was charged with disorderly conduct and released by the magistrate on personal recognizance. 
  • DRUGS North Stafford High School, 839 Garrisonville Road, 4/24, 12:10 p.m. Deputy R.L. Allen was conducting his SRO duties when he was informed of two separate drug activities. In each case, a student walked into a bathroom and observed a student doing something they weren’t supposed to. Each student was found to be in possession of a THC vape and both received a criminal complaint for possession of marijuana on school grounds. Brooke Point High School, 1700 Courthouse Road, 4/26, 9:30 a.m. Deputy D.J. Taylor was conducting his SRO duties when he was informed of drug activity. A student was under the influence in the nurse’s office. It was discovered the student got intoxicated from a THC vape pen from another student. When staff located the other student, she attempted to pass off the vape to a friend. The pass was fumbled, and Taylor submitted a criminal complaint for possession of marijuana on school grounds. The first student did not receive a criminal complaint. Stafford High School, 63 Stafford Indians Lane, 4/26, 1:00 p.m. Deputy R.B. Brooks was conducting his SRO duties when he was informed of a bathroom party. Staff advised a bathroom smelled like marijuana. During an administration search, one student was discovered to be in possession of seven THC vapes and a tobacco vape. Another student was discovered to be in possession of four tobacco vapes. The contraband was seized. Student one received criminal complaints for possession of marijuana on school property and underage possession of tobacco while student two received a criminal complaint for underage possession of tobacco. 
  • DUI Oak Drive, 4/19, 7:57 p.m. Deputy J.J. Suh responded to an unknown problem. The caller advised there was a passed-out male behind the wheel. When Suh arrived, he located the driver still napping in his running vehicle. After waking up, the driver advised he consumed three beers approximately 30 minutes ago. After conducting field sobriety tests, Suh charged the driver with driving under the influence. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober. Woodford Drive, 4/20, 12:18 p.m. Deputy C.D. Quebedeaux and Deputy S.A. Fulford responded to a hit and run. The victim had his parked unoccupied vehicle struck and damaged. Much like Hansel and Gretel, the deputies followed the trail of broken vehicle parts which led them directly to a suspect vehicle. The driver had signs of intoxication and admitted to consuming roughly four shots. She was charged with driving under the influence with a blood alcohol content above .2, and hit and run. She was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $7,500 secured bond. Intersection of Richmond Highway and Coal Landing Road, 4/20, 1:08 a.m. Deputy B.E. Vaughn was in the area when he observed a vehicle traveling 68 MPH in a 45 MPH zone. Vaughn conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, who had signs of intoxication. While the driver would at first deny consuming alcohol, he would later change his story. He was charged with driving under the influence, and reckless driving. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober. Entrance ramp to Southbound I-95 from Westbound Garrisonville Road, 4/20, 2:55 a.m. Deputy K.W. Suter was in the area when he heard what sounded like a vehicle driving on its rims. He would discover the source of the sound coming from a Toyota which indeed was traveling on a rim. Suter made contact with the driver, who advised he was traveling from home to home. If the inconceivable sentence wasn’t enough, the driver admitted to consuming alcohol prior to driving. The driver was charged with driving under the influence with a blood alcohol content between .15 and .2. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond. AP Auto, 174 Cambridge Street, 4/20, 3:15 p.m. Deputy J.L. Jones was on Richmond Highway when he observed a vehicle having a difficult time maintaining its lane. Jones conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver. The driver had multiple cans of alcohol within arm’s reach and thought he was in Manassas. He was informed this is Stafford County and was detained. It was also discovered this was not his first time driving under the influence. The driver was charged with driving under the influence third offense, drinking while driving, and failure to maintain the lane of travel. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond. Intersection of Brooke Road and Pocahontas Lane, 4/20, 4/20, 11:35 p.m. Deputy C.R. Newman responded to a single vehicle accident. A Dodge Ram had too much ram and not enough dodge as it veered off the roadway. The driver had signs of intoxication and admitted to drinking two beers before driving. He was charged with driving under the influence and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober. Cambridge Street, 4/21, 3:00 a.m. A 24-year-old male from Fredericksburg crashed into a parked car and was arrested for DUI. He was held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail on a bond. Cliff Circle, 4/21, 6:37 a.m. An 18-year-old male was arrested for DUI after crashing into a parked car and overturning his SUV. He was jailed without bond and additionally charged with underage alcohol possession. Corvair Street, 4/21, 4:48 p.m. A 53-year-old female was arrested for DUI after she made an illegal turn. She was held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober. America’s Best Value Inn, 605 Warrenton Road, 4/25, 4:44 p.m. Deputy I.E. Baldi responded to a reckless driver complaint. The caller advised a gray F-150 was driving all over the road and provided Baldi live updates on the vehicle’s whereabouts. Baldi arrived in the area just in time to observe the suspect vehicle cross four lanes of Warrenton Road and make an abrupt U-turn without using a turn signal. Baldi conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver. The driver advised he was driving “normally” to get to the beach. He was informed this is Stafford County and not Virginia Beach. The driver had signs of intoxication, and an empty alcoholic bottle near him. His beach trip was put on hold for he was charged with driving under the influence and failure to properly signal. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $3,500 secured bond. Country Inn and Suites, 656 Warrenton Road, 4/27, 3:24 p.m. Deputy R.L. Hubbard and Deputy A.W. Sypolt responded to a disturbance. The caller advised his phone was stolen by a family member. When deputies arrived, they discovered not only was this false, but the caller was intoxicated and left the area. Sergeant M.E. Gordon located the suspect vehicle driving in an unusual manner down Warrenton Road and conducted a traffic stop. The driver admitted to consuming alcohol prior to driving and had signs of intoxication. He was charged with driving under the influence second offense within five to ten years, and second offense refusal. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $3,000 secured bond
  • FOUND PROPERTY Grassland Street, 4/21, 2:50 p.m A resident turned in a debit card he found on the ground. 
  • FRAUD Elite Tobacco, 2769 Richmond Highway, 4/24, 2:09 p.m. Deputy J.L. Jones responded to a fraud. The victim advised his credit card was fraudulently used at this location.
  • LARCENY Meadow Drive, 4/19, 3:39 p.m. Deputy J.R. Suarez responded to a larceny. The juvenile victim advised his AirPods were stolen earlier in the day while at school. Using the power of technology, the victim was able to track the AirPods to a residence on Meadow Drive. While the juvenile suspect at the residence advised he didn’t have them, he was wearing AirPods that automatically connected to the victim’s phone. Suarez made contact with the suspect who turned over the stolen property. A criminal complaint for larceny was filed. Walmart, 11 Village Parkway, 4/19, 7:06 p.m. Deputy N.J. Amato responded to a larceny. Staff advised they observed a couple stealing nearly $150 worth of items. The pair then fled the scene in a white sedan. Genesis Logistics, 705 Bradburn Place, 4/20, 7:54 p.m. Deputy S.A. Edwards responded to a larceny. Two staff members had their personal items stolen from a break room. Walmart, 11 Village Parkway, 4/21, 12:59 p.m A female suspect fled the Walmart with a cart full of groceries. Staff provided her vehicle information and a warrant is now on file for her arrest. Hunton Drive, 4/21, 4:45 p.m. A resident reported their Toyota Corolla stolen from their driveway. Knollwood Court, 4/24, 6:18 p.m. Deputy J.N. Mills and Deputy R.W. Stamm responded to a larceny. The victim advised her residence was unlawfully entered and cash was stolen. After the victim advised the most likely point of entry was a door with a broken lock, Deputy Stamm repaired the door. Lowe’s, 1330 Stafford Market Place, 4/25, 4:15 p.m. Deputy J.N. Mills responded to a larceny. The victim advised while in the store, his phone was stolen from his vehicle. Target, 1090 Stafford Market Place, 4/25, 4:25 p.m. Deputy J.N. Mills responded to a larceny. Staff advised they had video of a larceny that occurred on the 21st . In it, two suspects could be seen skip scanning over $150 worth of items. Walmart, 217 Garrisonville Road, 4/26, 1:45 p.m. Deputy A.M. Pitts responded to an apologetic culprit. Staff advised they observed a male attempting to hide items in his backpack, including cocoa butter. The cocoa butter bandit was cocoa caught with nearly $60 worth of concealed items. The suspect would realize the error in his transgression and write an apology letter to Walmart. As sweet as his letter was, he was still charged with shoplifting and released on his summons. Excaliber Circle, 4/27, 2:59 a.m. Sergeant J.D. Hurt and Deputy M.A. Holub responded to a larceny. The victim advised she owns a Camaro, but it was not where she last left it. The parking space where it was last seen, deputies located shattered glass and broken pieces of a cinder block. The vehicle was entered as stolen into a law enforcement database.
  • PUBLIC INTOXICATION Holy Cross Academy, 250 Stafford Lakes Parkway, 4/20, 8:14 p.m. Deputy L.T. Ward responded to an intoxicated person call. The caller advised a male left his baby in a stroller and the stroller fell over. When the male was confronted, he appeared intoxicated. Deputy Ward made contact with the suspect, who advised he consumed two beers. The mother of the children responded to take care of the kids for the suspect, who was charged with public intoxication and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He was released by the magistrate on personal recognizance. Jessica Cheney Bridge, 4/23, 7:39 p.m. Deputy J.J. Holetzky responded to a suspicious person. Multiple people reported a man walking across the bridge acting “strange.” When Holetzky arrived he discovered the “strange” behavior was actually signs of intoxication. He was charged with public intoxication and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober. America’s Best Value Inn, 605 Warrenton Road, 4/23, 11:08 p.m. Deputy R.L. Hubbard was on scene of a 911 hang up call when she heard a female yelling belligerently. The female was in an intoxicated state and advised deputies she wanted to walk around to buy more alcohol. Considering that was not a good idea, the suspect was asked to stay in her room. Instead, as deputies were about to leave they observed the suspect again shouting towards Warrenton Road. She was charged with public intoxication and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober. Garrison Woods, 4/27, 12:36 a.m. Deputy X.D. Bates responded to a disturbance. The caller advised there were people being disorderly. When Bates arrived, he observed a female nearly fall over due to her level of intoxication. Bates informed the suspect, who he knew from previous incidents, that she needed to go inside her residence or she would be charged. The suspect complied and entered her residence. Bates would then circle the block and when he returned, observed the suspect outside again, now littering. She was charged with public intoxication and littering. She was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $1,000 secured bond. Jay’s Sports Lounge, 2866 Richmond Highway, 4/27, 1:59 a.m. Sergeant A.T. Leckemby and Deputy K.R. Sprinkles responded to a disturbance. It was advised there was a large group outside the business and a male and female were fighting. When deputies arrived, they made contact with the husband and wife involved. While a physical lovers quarrel was denied, neither one could deny their level of intoxication. The love birds were charged with public intoxication and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober. Super 8, 557 Warrenton Road, 4/27, 2:23 p.m. Deputy C.D. Sullivan responded to a disturbance. The caller advised a female was yelling at a male. Sullivan arrived on scene and made contact with both parties. While the male was cooperative, the female was not. The female was clearly intoxicated, screaming so violently deputies couldn’t understand her, and was wanting to fight the male. She was charged with public intoxication and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober.
  • TRAFFIC OFFENSE Stafford Hospital, 4/21, 5:22 p.m. A driver reported his unoccupied vehicle was struck by a hit and run driver in the Stafford Hospital parking lot. 
  • THREATS Kings Highway, 4/26, 9:33 p.m. Deputy M.A. Holub responded to a threats call. The victim advised she broke up with her boyfriend that night. Not coincidentally, five minutes later she began receiving threats from a new number. 
  • TRESPASS Walmart, 217 Garrisonville Road, 4/19, 10:11 a.m. Deputy A.E. Epps responded to a trespassing. A male who was trespassed for shouting at customers was back at the business once again shouting at customers. He was arrested for trespassing and released by the magistrate on personal recognizance.  
  • VANDALISM Old Anne E Moncure Elementary School, 75 Moncure Lane, 4/23, 9:50 a.m. Sergeant R.K. Pinkard responded to a vandalism. The building had a window shattered and several holes in the wall. Garrison Woods, 4/24, 11:12 a.m. Deputy S.M. Eastman responded to a vandalism. The victim advised her door knob was broken two days ago by someone she believed was attempting to enter her residence. Hidden Lake Drive, 4/25, 6:44 p.m. Deputy B.E. Vaughn responded to a vandalism. A resident wanted a guest to leave promptly and in an attempt to get him out, threw his Xbox and monitor. While the victim’s Xbox and Call of Duty were still in working order, the monitor was destroyed. A warrant for destruction of property was obtained. 
  • WARRANT SERVED 3000 Block of Richmond Highway, 4/21, 2:41 p.m A wanted suspect was stopped in the 3000 block of Richmond Highway. During the arrest a concealed handgun was found in the door. He was released by the magistrate on the outstanding warrants and the new concealed weapon warrant. America’s Best Value Inn, 605 Warrenton Road, 4/23, 11:20 a.m. Sergeant M.E. Gordon was investigating a disturbance when she made contact with a male. The male provided an identity that was reported stolen and used during crimes in other jurisdictions. Gordon was able to identify the suspect as a man who was wanted out of Hanover County for felony probation violation. He was charged with providing a false identity to law enforcement, identity theft, and served on his outstanding warrant. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $4,500 secured bond. Brixham Court, 4/25, 12:59 p.m. Deputy B.W. Gildea and Deputy S.M. Eastman responded to a residence in an attempt to serve a warrant. The suspect was wanted out of Stafford County for possession of controlled substances charges. Deputies were able to make contact with the suspect still in his pajamas and took him into custody without incident. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $2,500 secured bond.
  • WEAPON OFFENSE England Run North Apartment Complex, 4/20, 4:32 p.m. Deputy M.A. Pearce was in the area when he observed three males wearing face coverings. Given the recent crime in the area, Pearce was concerned by this and made contact with the three. The two juveniles removed their face coverings and were cooperative, while the 18-year-old did not. During their interaction, Pearce discovered the 18-year-old was carrying a concealed firearm that he got when he was a juvenile. The suspect was charged with carrying a concealed weapon, underage possession of a firearm, and felony wearing a mask in public. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $2,500 secured bond.
